A baby who was left in a running vehicle was kidnapped in a possible family dispute in Lancaster over the weekend, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The kidnapping was reported at 4:33 p.m. Sunday on 10th Street West, according to LASD. There, a man called law enforcement to report his vehicle, which had his 10-month-old baby inside, was stolen while he was inside a gas station restroom. The man added that the vehicle was running at the time.
The kidnapper was described as a woman.
Within about 30 minutes, Kern County sheriff’s deputies located the vehicle and infant. LASD said the case appears to be a possible parental abduction and some sort of family dispute.
It’s unclear if any arrests were made in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
