A crash in Horry County resulted in the death of one person.
The accident happened around 2am Sunday on Cates Bay Highway near Johnson Street. A driver was attempting to evade law enforcement when they veered off the road, struck a ditch, a brick sign, and several trees before coming to rest at a fence.
The driver of the suspected vehicle did not survive the injuries they sustained. It is unclear why law enforcement was pursuing the vehicle.
